Krzysztof Kuliś

   He was bom in Radomsko in 1944. In 1947 he moved to Nowy Sącz with his parents. He completed his education at The State Secondary School of Fine Arts and then The Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, from which he graduated in 1970. He also used to work as an art teacher at Secondary School No.1 in Nowy Sącz. For three subsequent terms he was chairman of the Nowy Sącz branch of the ZPAP (The Union of Polish Artists). He was member of the Town Council as well. Since 1973 he has been the director of the Bureau of Art Exhibitions in Nowy Sącz, and since 1994 has been the Chairman of The Association of Polish Pastel Artists and initiator and superintendent of the First Four All-Poland Exhibitions of Pastels (1987-1994) in Nowy Sącz, the All-Poland Pastel Biennial in Nowy Sącz 1996-98-2000 and The International Biennial Pastel Exhibition in Nowy Sącz 2002-2004-2006. He belongs to the following organizations: The Union of Polish Artists, The "Wspólnota Polska" Society, The Society of Culture Animators,The Association of Polish Pastel Artists, The Nowy Sącz Society of Friends of Fine Arts (Honorable Membership). He practises painting and scenography and is active propagator of art. He was an author of a few scenographies in the House of Culture (DKK) in Nowy Sącz ("Dziady" "Antygona" "Niemcy" "Odejście Głodomora" "Moralność Pani Dulskiej").
   He projected and made scenie settings for some open air performances of Krzysztof Jasiński in years 1976-79. He adapted and directed a theater spectacle "Mątwa" by Witkacy in 1985. In 1993 he was invited by the organizers of theTheatrical Summer in Zamość to exhibit air pastels of "Theatrical impressions"cycle as an accompanying event.
   The works of Krzysztof Kuliś were presented on a lot of many individual and many collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. They can be found in both private and institutional collections in Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Spain, Sweden, USA and Yugoslavia.
